I somehow skipped my April blog post, and now here we are in the middle of May — almost forgotten again. Life and studio work have been wonderfully full lately as I prepare for spring shows and events.
Earlier this month, I was invited as a guest artist at Studio Carta, a beautifully curated Italian ribbon and paper shop in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. It was my first time participating there, and I’m still riding high from the experience. The shop is filled with imported Italian ribbons, stationery, paper goods, and all sorts of beautiful details (including a new addition to my scissor collection). I loved being surrounded by such a sophisticated and creative atmosphere, and hearing Italian spoken throughout the shop made the event feel even more special.
We also brought my son home after his junior year of college, and I’m so happy to have a full house again.
At the end of this month, I’ll be heading to Fine Day Fair in New York for my second year participating. It’s such a thoughtfully curated event, set on a beautiful farm under a white tent surrounded by irises and hydrangeas. I’ve even heard that Martha Stewart sometimes stops by — maybe this will be the year I finally meet her.
